Dr.Sharmishtha Kewle is a senior gynaecologist , practicing in the area of Sion-Chembur area since the year 2004.
She is working in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since the year 2000, with high risk obstetrics being her area of special interest,along with routine gynaecology work as well.
She completed her M.B.B.S from TOPIWALA NATIONAL MEDICAL COLLEGE AND BAI YAMUNABAI LAXMIBAI NAIR HOSPITAL ( TNMC ) ,located at Byculla, Mumbai , in the year 2000.TNMC is one of the teaching ,tertiary hospital in Mumbai since 1921. It was during her exciting and fruitful stint in OBGY ( Nair and Wadia Hospital) in the 2 nd year of her tenure of M.B.B.S, that she decided to take up Obstetrics and Gynaecology as her interest.
After passing out from Nair Hospital in the year 2000,she also worked as a Medical Officer for a year in rural Maharashtra, as a part of the curriculum. It was here that she started working individually not only on OBGY cases , but even on general ones, with much development of her decision making skills. She successfully completed this stint by working at grass root level, by educating the village women on safe and healthy motherhood, emphasizing on the importance of ante natal visits( ANC ), conducting family planning camps and conducting successful tubectomies , conducting government programs like pulse polio vaccination etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE
She eventually got admission in her much desired OBGY course, and joined LTMC (LOKMANYA TILAK MEDICAL COLLEGE AND GENERAL HOSPITAL) at Sion, Mumbai, in the year 2001, which is one of the busiest tertiary government Hospitals in Mumbai. The Hospital itself is a huge 1500 bedded Hospital with a delivery rate of 35 to 50 deliveries per day, and which is a referral center for not only Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, but also for places like Thane, Raigad etc. Most of the high risk and exceptionally hard cases are referred here. She worked with stalwarts in the field during her course, attended emergencies and performed difficult cases under the guidance of experienced seniors.
She worked for another year in the OBGY Department of Nair Hospital after completing her OBGY in Sion Hospital , and thus got experience of working with great doctors from both places.
She eventually joined private practice in the year 2004 at Sion and Chembur area and is practicing till date, constantly striving to acquire new talents in the ever changing field of medicine.
Her motto is to help more and more expectant mothers deal with the new ,difficult and exciting phase of their lives, and women of all age groups with various problems related to Obs and Gynaec and thus help in making a smooth transition in their lives.

Also performed normal deliveries and difficult vaginal deliveries and assisted in gynaecological surgeries like vaginoplasty,sling operations
